The Shimano museum seems like a must-visit attraction next time I find myself in the general area.

This episode from the lovely city podcast by Inge Wannet is a perfect account of what it feels like to cycle through Amsterdam rush hour.

Cycling in London is more joyful than in Berlin and I feel it’s more of a cycling city now.

“Nightmare bicycle” is a concept that I won’t get out of my head quickly.

Long distance bike packing races however brutal they may be look like they fulfil an ideal. They have an activity that’s not that fast but where you can still cover a lot of distance and terrain. The contestants are physically and mentally absurdly fit and still they go through hell. The remoteness of the locations usually creates a special connection to the local people and culture.

In this podcast episode a court case is treated (with the public prosecutor) where during a fluke accident a girl riding along on a bike is killed by a bus in Amsterdam.

The days are long but the years are short.

Een van de weinige lokaal Delftse politieke thema’s die mij raakt is het fietsenbeleid rondom het station. Ik kan nooit makkelijk mijn fiets kwijt rondom het station hier.
