I just watched and finished season 1 of Gibi which seems to have been enough of a success for them to quickly put out a second season. It’s a Turkish dark comedy show that you can watch online on Exxen. I already wrote it’s a bit like Seinfeld but with a very dark undercurrent.

I have followed the Turkish elections on the night from Sunday to Monday which turned into a gripping account of prime minister Erdogan trying to steal the elections while most of the people were sleeping. Orchestrated blackouts had drawn out the count. The twitter block didn’t prevent activism from spreading but did reduce the reach of its effects. Those that knew and cared about it were at the counting locations trying to safeguard the ballots and the tallies.

Had net Google Earth geïnstalleerd en zag dat daar erg handige tools in staan om afstanden te meten tussen plaatsen. Ik had voor mijn tabel nog een paar afstanden nodig die ik daarmee heb geschat.

Waar ik al bang voor was is gebeurd, mijn terugvlucht met Corendon is ook verplaatst van 05:35 ’s ochtends naar 14:30 ’s middags diezelfde dag. Het toeval wil dat een meisje van een Turks stel die ik ontmoette in Palmyra diezelfde vlucht heeft.

Het leek me wel handig voor vrienden en familie om een continu up to date reisschema bij te houden. Een kruising zogezegd tussen een itinerary en een travelogue. Maar een blog is dat in feite al.

Mijn broertje heeft me de foto’s uit Istanbul opgestuurd. De stad ziet er op foto eigenlijk nog mooier uit dan toen ik erin stond. Raar effect.

Voor Alper’s Grote Istanbulreis was er een beetje stress over onze reisdocumenten.

Ik ben er en Istanbul is overweldigend, gigantisch en fantastisch.

Het is door! Iets anders dan ik gedacht had maar ik ga.

Niet verder vertellen (het is nog niet zeker). Maar misschien, heel misschien ga ik een weekje weg naar Istanbul.
